January 19th, 2010. Banco Sabadell has set the "BS Idea" in motion, an innovative virtual social network that facilitates the reception and treatment of all ideas, suggestions for improvement and new commercial initiatives generated in any area of the organization. BS Idea, developed by ideas4all -a company founded and directed by Ana María Llopis, also founder of OpenBank and executive director with ample experience in the Internet and new technologies sector- incorporates a series of characteristics making it a far more advanced tool than other similar platforms currently on the market. During the first weeks of operation, the activity level in this new social network for the bank's employees has been extremely high. On December 31st, a total of 4,000 users had accessed the portal. 1,600 of these had contributed ideas, including 932 suggestions for improvement. These are, according to Miguel Montes, Associate General Director, “extremely positive figures, exceeding by far the average use of this type of channel, and proving the implementation of a social network within a company has the potential to become a very useful resource, if managed correctly”. An innovative tool in the sector BS Idea uses technology developed by ideas4all (www.ideas4all.com) to implement specialized social networks. A number of modifications have also been included to adapt this technology to Banco Sabadell's specific needs, making BS Idea an advanced and clearly differentiated product. Some of BS Ideas' outstanding characteristics are: • Its idea voting system, based on five levels for grading. • Total freedom to register new ideas, without having to pass through an internal circuit for approval. • Access for all employees, from the corporate intranet. The interaction made possible by this system generates an important source of information for the company. Since it is very possible that the most commented and highly marked ideas are the most useful for a greater number of users, those responsible for making a final selection have access to particularly useful information. BS Idea also includes 17 categories to classify ideas, aligned with the bank's strategic objectives, in order to detect high-value initiatives that may contribute to improve internal processes. In the future, the bank is considering the possibility of opening a social network to its customers, in order to obtain more feedback from its users. ideas4all, a new way of sharing ideas and innovation ideas4all (www.ideas4all.com) is a vertical social network offering a new way of sharing ideas and innovation.
