Be nice
If you’ve ever been part of any online community, you’ll know that they mostly run on the goodwill of its members. And if you haven’t, then the one golden rule is: be nice.
You will probably never meet the people whose ideas you’re voting for or commenting on, but they are still people. Treat them as friends. Get along.
Basically, just treat other people as you would want to be treated, and you’ll be fine.
Be Active We want to set a world record by collecting one million ideas. If you want to be part of this, then be an active part.
The cool thing about ideas4All is that it needs Ideators, Questors and Navigators to work properly – you’re all equal. So it doesn’t really matter whether you’re posting ideas or problems, or whether you signed in for a vote, a comment and a bit of fun.
If you’re an Ideator, then why not try being a Questor or a Navigator?
It’s great to have ideas but it can also help the community if you pose problems, or show other people the way through your votes and comments.
Questors and Navigators can also have ideas. That’s the point of ideas4All – everyone can have ideas!
Main thing is, if you have ideas, problems or opinions, and you’re going to play nice, then you’re more than welcome to join in and have fun.
Be understanding Sometimes we might have to take action if someone has posted something offensive or illegal. This goes against everything we hold dear, but unfortunately it can be necessary.
If this happens to you then before you throw your toys out the crib, just close your eyes, count to ten, and take another look at this page. Figure out where you might have gone wrong.
If you still think we did the wrong thing, let us know.
Be legal
We don’t like saying “don’t”, but don’t:
Post porn. This means anything sexually explicit, whether an image or a description.
Post violence. It’s, well, violent, and we don’t need it.
Incite. We don’t want people to do bad stuff like attack other people or blow them up.
Attack. It doesn’t matter if you never meet the other people on ideas4All, we won’t allow you to attack or demean them for any reason, including race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, and sexual orientation/gender identity.
Intimidate. If one of our users feels they’re being intimidated, they’re being intimidated. If you threaten someone or just keep hassling them, we might have to ban you. This includes scaring someone by revealing their personal information. Don’t do it.
Be Cool! To sum it up: BE COOL!
