1. Who is ideas4all for? ideas4all is the ideas social network, for all and by all. It is meant for anyone with ideas they want to share, be they simple or sophisticated, or anyone who simply wants to see other peoples’ ideas, vote for them and share their comments. ideas4all is also for anyone looking for inspiration, or people who want to share problems they are looking to solve. The only requirement: you must be over 18 if you want to access and participate in competitions. Register not only to read ideas, but also to participate by sharing your own ideas and voting for ideas posted by other users. Join competitions, win prizes, and share your ideas in social networks, Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin… All you need to do is register, and that couldn’t be easier: you can do so here. 2. What do we mean by idea? At ideas4all we value simplicity, so the best definition we can give is: “idea is an original proposal that can change someone’s life, or change the world”. 3. What kind of ideas is ideas4all looking for? Each and every last one of them! There is no limit. It doesn’t matter if they’re simple, complicated, big ideas, small… As long as they have something remotely original and new…something different. Take a look at what others have shared and be inspired. 4. What kind of challenge or problem is ideas4all looking for? Each and every last one of them. Maybe you need to reduce the amount of waste in your surroundings to help the environment. Or perhaps your company needs to solve the problem of generating clean energy before your competitors do. 5. What is the Global Brain? It is a metaphor used to express how people can interact and how–by interacting–they can create a collective intelligence that is greater than the sum of all its parts. It is a way of creating a virtual, global, intelligent space where all ideas can be connected and seen. Everything can be connected, except for that which does not exist. Day after day, millions of ideas are lost because people forget them or think they are not worth the bother. Such a waste! In a massively interconnected world, made possible by the web 2.0, sharing our ideas is easy, and any single idea can generate many others… That is how the “Global Brain” works. 6. Why should I share my ideas for free? Because your ideas can change other people’s lives, and they might even change the world. Because there is something you would love to buy, or a service you would like to receive, that is not yet available. This doesn’t mean you necessarily want to create a business around the idea; you simply want to see that product or service on the market. If what you are after, however, is a business opportunity, the ideas4all Community can help you with its opinions. Because you’ve found a way to improve your Community and want to share your idea and see what others think of it, how they value it and what their views are. 7. Will I keep my copyright or intellectual property rights over my ideas? When you share ideas, you have two options: 1. Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 By choosing this option, you retain only the idea’s authorship, but give up all other rights over it. This means you will lose the copyright, but in exchange will obtain that warm and satisfactory inner feeling of having shared something. Read more on this agreement in Terms & Conditions. 2. Licencia “ideas4all” By choosing this option, you retain the copyright over your ideas. In this case, you only give ideas4all the right to display your ideas. Nonetheless, this could become an obstacle if you want others to be able to use your idea. If you’re worried about patent rights, one way of safeguarding your rights is to express your idea very broadly, without giving away all the details. Read more on this agreement in Terms & Conditions. 8. Can I report content that I consider inappropriate or abusive? Yes. We have a Policy on this matter that, despite being rather broad, needs to be respected. If you believe someone is behaving incorrectly within the context of an idea, problem or comment, you can click on the “Report Abuse” button that you will find in every idea, problem or comment, and report its content. ideas4all’s Administration will evaluate each case independently and decide on whether to delete any reported content permanently. In the Help section, under ideas4all Community, you will find more information on the type of Abuse Reports available. If you have any other problems or queries, you can write to us at: info@ideas4all.com 9. Can I filter the ideas and problems I want to see? You can use the many different filters (by date posted, number of votes, etc.), or you can search for ideas and problems by category or tag. 10. How can I invite my friends to register and participate? To invite a friend, all you need to do is click on “Spread the Word”, on the top right-hand corner of your screen. From there, you will be able to send invitations to as many friends as you like. They will all receive an Invitation Code that they can choose to include when they register. Once your Invitation Code and your friend’s registration have been confirmed, we will add 150 Brain-Fu points to your account. All new users who register with your Invitation Code will help you increase your Brain-Fu. Check out our chart to find out how many points you can obtain. 11. What are the buttons “Add to Favorites” and “Remove from Favorites”? Use “Add to Favorites” to add an idea or problem to your favorites list. The idea or problem will automatically be added to your list, which you can access from your personal profile. The button “Remove from Favorites” does exactly the opposite–select the idea you wish to remove, and click this button to delete it from your Favorites list. 12. What is “Build on an idea "? This is where you can build on an idea that was posted by another user. Take any idea as inspiration to develop your own idea, i.e. you will create your own, new idea based on the previous idea. This means you are helping to improve the idea by expanding it, adapting it to a more general context or market, modifying it… there are many ways in which you can build on ideas posted by others. You may discover an idea and feel inspired to develop it further, or you may direct the idea in an entirely new direction. 13. What are the fields “Suggested for” and “Dedicated to”? “Suggested for” is a field where you can add the company, institution, or brand your idea is intended for. “Dedicated to” is a field in which you can dedicate your idea to whomever you want, for fun. If you have a brilliant idea for a cathole, why not dedicate it to your cat? If your idea will make your mom’s life easier, dedicate it to her. If your idea is meant for an airline, you could dedicate it the world’s travellers, or to airline employees. 14. Who can edit an idea? The user who posted the idea in ideas4all. Also, by publishing their ideas, users accept that ideas4all may modify them without changing the content itself, but possibly adapting the style of language, as well as correcting errors of expression and/or grammar. Users also authorize ideas4all to send ideas considered especially attractive to other companies or organizations, and to reproduce them through social networks and the media, etc. You can write with any questions or queries regarding edited ideas, to editorial@ideas4all.com. 15. What is a co-Ideator? Users you invite to co-edit your idea. When you invite them, they become part of the idea and help you develop it. This option promotes ideas created by a group of users, which can be as small or as large as you like. All you need to do is invite them to create your idea, and they will join in on the fun. 16. Can an idea be rejected, deleted or removed? It should be understood that there is no such thing as a bad idea or a stupid idea. This means that, in principle, we do not reject ideas. Nevertheless, ideas4all has a set of Community Rules that must be respected, and should your ideas not comply with these, they can be Reported as Abuse and consequently be removed. 17. Can I block another user’s comment? You cannot, but should the comment be offensive or inappropriate, you can Report it as Abuse and the Administration will consider its removal, notifying the user who posted the comment. 18. What is the “Enterprising Ideas” category? “Enterprising Ideas” is the set of all ideas that might become a business venture, regardless of the general category to which they belong. This means that, apart from requiring classification in one of ideas4all’s categories (Art & Culture, Environment & Sustainability, Science & Technology, etc.), you will be able to mark your idea as an “Enterprising Idea” by ticking the box when you post a new idea. This will show the entire ideas4all Community, and anyone browsing for inspiration, that you are interested in enterprising. The idea will be classified automatically, and it will be available both in its category and under the category “Enterprising Ideas”. That is, the set of ideas included in “Enterprising Ideas” is a complementary classification that adds value to your idea. 19. How can I unsubscribe from the website?
